Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Insightful Audio (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in our iOS synthesizer app and AudioUnit extension (the “App”). We built the App as a musical instrument that respects your privacy. We do not collect, store, or share personal information.

1. Information we do not collect

Insightful Audio does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide any personal information. The App does not collect or store:

• Your name, email address, phone number, or location
• Any audio you create, perform, or process
• Contacts, calendars, photos, or files from your device
• Usage analytics, advertising identifiers, or crash data tied to your identity

2. Local data only

Any presets, settings, or preferences you create are stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this data and cannot view, modify, or restore it. If you delete the App, all locally stored data is removed. You can also delete individual presets from within the App at any time.

3. Audio processing

Insightful Audio generates and processes audio in real time on your device. Audio is produced by the App and, when used as an AudioUnit extension, by the host app you choose (such as GarageBand or AUM). We do not record, transmit, or store any audio output. The App does not request microphone permission because it does not capture audio input.

4. AI preset generation

The App lets you import synthesizer presets by pasting preset JSON that you generate independently using your own AI tool of choice (for example, ChatGPT, Claude, or another service). The App itself does not connect to any AI service, send your requests to third-party AI providers, or receive generated content on your behalf. Any interaction with an AI tool happens outside of the App and is governed by that service's privacy policy.

5. Third-party services and links

The App does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. Our website may contain links to the App Store or to documentation. Those external sites have their own privacy policies, and we encourage you to review them.

6. Apple's App Store and iCloud

If you back up your device using iCloud or iTunes, your local App data may be included in that backup. This is handled by Apple's systems, not by us. App Store transactions and download information are processed by Apple and subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

7. Children's privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently received personal information from a child, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was most recently revised. Your continued use of the App after any changes means you accept the updated policy.
